Alithya is seeking an experienced Smart Plant Engineer/Analyst. You will work primarily within the energy industry on technically challenging and interesting projects. You have strong technical skills and excellent spoken and written communication skills. You are comfortable in client-facing situations, results-driven, and flexible. You take ownership of tasks and enjoy variety in your work.

  • Consult with clients on digital strategy and digital transformation;
  • Perform requirement gathering and documentation of business requirements and project estimates;
  • Contribute to departmental OT-IT convergence strategy;
  • Direct and share the experience with technical project staff;
  • Prepare and review technical design documentation;
  • Meet with and support clients;
  • Work as a member of a team in a project-based environment;
  • Travel (as required) to client sites for requirements gathering and other meetings.

Does this sound like you?

  • Undergraduate degree in business, engineering or a field related to the responsibilities;
  • Experience:
    • consulting with customers to develop technology roadmaps, business cases, and business requirements;
    • working with enterprise IT architecture and applications, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM);
    • working with IT-OT Convergence technologies, including Plant Information (PI) historian, Asset Performance Management (e.g., NI InsightCM, AVEVA Prism), and OPC UA;
    • in real-time and historical analytics-based application solutions for enterprises, integrating data from different layers of the automation stack (PLC, HMI, DCS, SCADA, MES, ERP).
  • Over five (5) years of experience working in manufacturing, energy/utilities, or a related industry;
  • In-depth knowledge of OT-IT digital transformation for greenfield or brownfield applications;
  • Experience working with Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Digital Twin technologies;
  • Experience working in data science and analytics using technologies such as Python, R, C, Azure, Databricks, AWS, SnowFlake, etc.;
  • The following would be considered assets:
    • Professional Engineer designation in Ontario;
    • Experience in the Canadian nuclear industry;
    • Nuclear security clearance within Canada;
    • Experience in industrial automation and/or process control.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required;
  • Languages required:
    • English: 4/4
