A typical work day:


  • Oversee team in test planning delivery, preparation and activities relating to execution;
  • Be accountable for all project and release testing including integration, business acceptance, performance, operability, and deployment verification;
  • Ensure effective planning and coordination of support with partners including business, CIO group and Infrastructure;
  • Oversee the creation of plans, testing strategies and project documentation using risk analysis methodologies and tools for the project’s development approach;
  • Manage documentation from the creation through to the review and sign-off relating to strategies, plans, schedules, cost estimates, test cases, dashboards, defect logs, test phase closure reports, entry/exit criteria and gating).
  • Ensure records adhere to standards and audit requirements;
  • Communicate and address scope changes that may impact testing;
  • Participate in the creation and execution of test cases in order to meet deadlines as well as manage and support team in creating reusable test assets for manual and automated test scripts;
  • Chair and oversee regular defect status calls in order to ensure effective and detailed documentation, tracking, test report on test planning, executions and defect resolutions using metrics;
  • Develop and manage operational processes to ensure QA processes link into technology delivery practices and standards;
  • Assess various automation tools and make recommendations on automation strategy;
  • Determine when components meet quality criteria and standards as well as approve release to production;
  • Conduct test case reviews to ensure scenarios accurately capture business functionality;
  • Work collaboratively with a team and in an Agile-Scrum environment.


Ideal candidate
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;
  • Strong communication and documentation skills;
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal direction;
  • 5+ years of experience in a QA Lead role;
  • Strong understanding of QA concepts and methodologies;
  • Undergraduate Degree or Technical Certificate;
  • Graduate Degree preferred.
