Social Pane – Change the default from Activities to Posts or Notes in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013

In Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013, on many of the new forms there is a Social Pane that efficiently allows you to view and add Activities, Posts and Notes to the record.

In some instances, you will want the default "Activities" to display first with "Posts" and "Notes" being one click away.

If you want to change which is the default, you can make this change with the Customization Toolkit by doing the following:

  1. Open the Record Form – Under the "…", click "Form"
  2. Under the "Social Pane" Section, double click on the "Notes Properties"
  3. Change the "Tab" that you want to be the Default (see screen shot below)
  4. Save and Publish
