Electrical and Electronics Engineering Consultant

General responsibilities:

• Solve unique problems that address client requirements;

• Provide innovative technical solutions to clients;

• Support reverse engineering and/or replacement of obsolete components;

• Plan and support on-site testing of replacement components;

• Mentor junior staff in the execution of design activities;

• Manage client expectations and support design and testing activities;

• Support engineering change control.

Core electrical and electronics engineering-focused responsibilities:

• Design, review and troubleshoot low-level analog and digital circuits;

• Prepare engineering deliverables including the design, testing, commissioning, plant operations, as well as the maintenance of manuals and documents;

• Supervise electrical installers;

• Travel to customer sites to support electrical installations, as well as electrical and process integration.

When it just clicks!

Does this sound like you?

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering;

• Professional Engineer licence (or in progress) by Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO);

• Valid (or ability to get) OPG security clearance;

• Experience:

  • in reviewing electronic schematics and PCB layouts;

  • in electrical installations;

  • in working with measurement tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, process meters);

  • with Darlington Digital Control Computers.

• Assets:

  • OPG Design Engineer (DE) qualification;

  • Knowledge of OPG software program.

• Ability to:

  • work independently and within teams;

  • execute work to high safety and quality requirements;

  • respond rapidly to changing demands and transitions between diverse projects and work teams.

• Strong problem-solving skills;

• Comfortable in client-facing environments;

• Results-driven and self-starter;

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
