The Director of Services is an experienced consulting and management professional with responsibility for client success through the oversight of planning, execution and monitoring multiple projects to ensure project satisfaction.

While Alithya’s clients are the Director’s customers, Alithya consultants are the Director’s primary asset. Just as client-facing responsibilities are the Director’s main focus, positioning, marketability, and development of Alithya consultants are at the heart of the individual’s success.

The Director of Services possesses expert-level knowledge in a vertical discipline, industry, technology, or cross products in the technical/application area. They must demonstrate competencies in areas of leadership, creativity, efficiency, excellence, integrity, flexibility, relationship management, and influence while exhibiting Alithya’s values.

  • Manage a team of consultants and team leads;

  • Provide project management oversight for four to six project teams;

  • Monitor the quality aspects of deliverables and implementation activities;

  • Develop and deliver quality presentations to clients and management;

  • Provide implementation sales support;

  • Provide clients with smooth transition from the sales phase into product implementation;

  • Liaise with Customer Sponsor and Steering entities to ensure successful delivery of commitments, quality, and alignment with scope;

  • Follow the escalation path for any deviation in scope;

  • Review project deliverables to satisfy scope, objectives, and business requirements;

  • Ensure services, project performance and deliverables are aligned to deliver expected business outcomes;

  • Remove project delivery barriers, and resolve and escalate issues with recommendations to the Steering Committee;

  • Build sponsorship coalition for managing organizational change;

  • Identify/mitigate risks and other barriers to successful project execution and escalate issues as appropriate;

  • Establish strong client relationships;

  • Monitor engagement performance and present the implementation successes, challenges and results in a consultative manner;

  • Prepare plans/quotes and outline a specific scope of work to the client with input from the internal team;

  • Provide ongoing management and guidance of the assigned client team, consisting of experienced services professionals, who will work closely with you to execute your clients’ projects;

  • Quickly identify key implementation risks or challenges and work closely with your internal team and the client to address them;

  • Ensure your client team manages to prescribed timelines, meets deliverable deadlines and is recognized for providing high-quality work and compelling results;

  • Manage the overall profitability of client implementations, including labor hours and expenses per the approved budget;

  • Continuously seek ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness internally as well as with clients;

  • Coach and mentor consultants in methodologies and tools; assist in their application in project situations when necessary; provide consulting management to consultants on some engagements if required;

  • Submit timesheets, expense reports, status reports, and management reports, such as backlog and utilization, in a timely manner;

  • Support project managers in the professional services software that is used;

  • Provide guidance to less experienced managers and consultants;

  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and assessing and enhancing consultant skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree;

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience;

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial/leadership role;

  • Industry knowledge in ERP, CRM, manufacturing, professional services, higher education, or distribution is highly desired;

  • Exceptionally strong interpersonal/communication and presentation skills;

  • Ability to:

    • identify opportunities for future implementations, gather client requirements and effectively communicate them to your internal client team;

    • plan and carry out responsibilities with minimal direction.

  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize, while working with a sense of urgency against a weekly and monthly deadline;

  • Strong and effective decision-making and project management skills;

  • Effective leader and team player;

  • Thrives in high energy, small business environment.
