In this role, you will join the team responsible for overseeing the Group’s application of accounting standards and the compliance of financial statements.
 

  • Analyze and document technical accounting issues and prepare accounting position memorandums under:

    • IFRS 15, Revenue Recognition;

    • IAS 38, Intangible Assets;

    • other accounting standards.

  • Participate in special projects, including assisting with purchase accounting, related disclosure, and position memorandums;

  • Collaborate with your team in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and in non-GAAP disclosures;

  • Document accounting policies and ensure consistency across the Group;

  • Review the impact of new accounting standards and required disclosures;

  • Assist with the consolidation process and intra-jurisdiction transactions;

  • Play an active role in the accounting of equity instruments and the disclosure of financial instruments;

  • Participate in the integration of new subsidiaries, including:

    • compliance with IFRS;

    • the assessment of accounting policies and alignment with Alithya’s policies;

    • the consolidation process and functional currency analysis.

  • Assist with continuous improvement projects to enhance processes and support business growth.

Does this sound like you?

  • Three to five years of relevant experience in accounting standards and financial reporting;

  • CPA designation and public accounting experience (assets);

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial standards and regulations (preferably IFRS);

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word;

  • Ability to:

    • clearly communicate the assessment of issues, facts and supportive conclusions in writing;

    • work independently, multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a changing environment.

  • Strong work ethic and standards: highly organized with excellent attention to detail, accuracy and conciseness, and strong technical and analytical skills;

  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to teamwork;

  • Dynamic personality with an ability to learn quickly, be proactive, and adapt to changing requirements.


Please note that due to the nature of the responsibilities of the position, a proficient level of English is required, in particular to read and understand documentation on a daily basis.
