Our in-house Engineering department houses engineers whose control system knowledge covers a broad range of control system platforms from many vendors and whose experience spans numerous industries, including nuclear, aerospace, petrochemicals, automotive, and manufacturing. Our engineers are skilled in designing and developing a wide-range of control systems: from Distributed Control Systems (DCSs) and Independent Control Systems (ICSs) to standalone single-loop controllers. In addition, we have experience in PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, data historians and plant information systems.
It has been a long term policy of Alithya to deploy independent verification and validation teams to ensure that review and testing is performed with the proper degree of objectivity and to provide a division of labour that compresses project timelines and uncovers errors early.
Alithya has a proven track record of performing qualification of pre-developed/Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software components and related software engineering tools, and helping nuclear operators and suppliers comply with regulatory requirements of the Canadian nuclear industry with respect to computer systems. Alithya’s Engineering Technology lab serves as a research, prototyping, development, and testing centre for all in-house projects related to computer/control systems and custom hardware. This allows us to provide complete turnkey systems qualified to nuclear standards.
