How to Get Started With Power BI Reports and Dynamics 365 Marketing
This blog will show you step-by-step how to get started with Power BI reports and Dynamics 365 Marketing.
Dynamics 365 Marketing Power BI Analytic Reporting Setup
1. Login in to Azure Portal https://portal.azure.com/
2. Create a new resource group. ( you can skip this step if you already have a resource group you’d like to use)
2.1 Within azure portal click on the top left hamburger menu and hover over Resource groups and click create from the pop up.
2.2 Give the Resource group a unique name & click create
2.3 From the Resource groups page go into your newly created resource group by clicking on the name.
3. Create a storage Account.
3.1 Once inside the newly created Resource group click the Add button on the top left.
3.2 We will need to create a storage account that will store the report data. From the categories on the left select “Storage”, and then select “Storage account - blob, file, table, queue”
3.3 In the Create storage account screen make sure the resource group points to the newly created group. Give your storage account a unique and leave all other options with default settings and click create.
3.4 Once the account is created, click Go to resource
4. Create a Container.
4.1 From within the newly created storage account click the container icon
4.2 From the containers view click on the add Container button, and create a new container
5. Create a Shared Access Signature.
5.1 From the newly created storage account go to the Containers page click on “Storage Explorer (preview)”
5.2 From the Storage Explorer (preview) view expand Blob Container and right click on the newly created container and select Get Shared Access Signature. Choose date range you wish to have access available and for permission choose Read, Write, and Delete & List. Click Create
5.3 Copy and keep the URI & Query String created, and keep in a safe place. URI:https://marketingpocstoage.blob.core.windows.net/crm-data-container?sp=rwdl&st=2020-05-07T17:48:14Z&se=2021-05-07T04:11:00Z&sv=2019-10-10&sr=c&sig=sC5IeyqNrgsEo1Hl6nWg1%2FQIxptQgXJSU%2FqQKFY%2F7Mw%3D

7.1 Sign into Dynamics 365 Marketing and go to Settings > Advanced settings > Marketing settings > Marketing analytics configuration.
